WORLD WAR II MEMORIES

For a truly personal touch, I created a collage of my husband’s World War II
Memorabilia; telegraph from his army post, envelope registered to his mother, birthday card; mother and son, as well the Filipino friends photos and Japanese money and randomly placed them on vintage paper. I glued the old photo of my husband and his mother’s on chipboard frames with black photo corner tapes, then balanced them with fibers, crossed-tied in between the frames. I used brown ribbon with sewn buttons to add dimension to the page and glued computer- typed journal on torn- inked vellum paper.


Journaling:
Amid all the chaos of several years of combat in World War II in the South Pacific, my husband found time to write his mother, make friends with Filipinos, collect Japanese currency and amazingly, keep all those memorabilia for over 65 years.

Materials used:
MM pattern papers, K&Company chipboard letters, Elizabeth’s chipboard frames, Pioneer photo corners, buttons, ribbon, fiber, brads, Scotch double sided tape, Pizazz vellum, Memorabilia’s: 1944 letter envelope, birthday card, Western Union Telegraph, Japanese currencies, photos.
